Growing your Enrollment

After thirty years of helping Christian schools go from good to great, we have gained deep experience and developed methodology to empower school leaders and educators in critical areas of school operations. We would like to partner with you and provide valuable insights and practical tools so that your school can transform students’ lives and leave a lasting impact on the families it serves.

To help your school achieve its God-given mission, we have broken school operations into seven critical areas and focused our practices, methodology, and tools in these areas:

Mission, Vision, and Values

Your school’s mission, vision, and values are key components that help define purpose, direction, and principles. While often used interchangeable, each has a distinct meaning and serves different purposes in guiding decision making, hiring, and culture.

Board Oversight

An administrator can run a great school without a great board for a period. However, schools with long, enduring legacies and standards of excellence are built on the collective wisdom of a body of leaders over long periods of time. Recognize the importance of board oversight and its impact on the success of the school.

The Leadership Team

Leadership excellence starts with the head of school. It involves goal setting and ensuring measurable results are achieved. The school should be actively identifying and developing both current and future leaders.

Marketing & Enrollment

A school must be able to articulate its value proposition. The marketing plan should comprehensively use different channels including word of mouth, digital, social media, and website. The channels should identify and develop relationships with a pipeline of students, parents, and families that want to be part of the school community.

Culture & People Management

You must hire and develop faculty, coaches, and staff who are highly competent and able to effectively disciple. Without the right people, the school will fail to achieve its mission, vision, and strategic & operational priorities.

Programming

A school’s programming should create a high impact value proposition for parents. Parents desire their students to become highly production, sought-after, and successful Christ-centered leaders. Students seek connection, opportunity, and belonging. How do you create this in your school?

Operational Excellenece

We must operate schools with excellence as it directly impacts the ability to fulfill mission, serve stakeholders, and achieve long-term sustainability. Operational excellence allows for the efficient use of resources, both people and money, maximizing the impact of faculty, staff, facilities, technology, and other assets to best serve the needs of students.

Consulting services

The Institute’s Faculty have successfully engaged with many Christian schools to help them improve their operations and outcomes.

We offer consulting services to assist Christian schools in implementing best practices and evaluating their strengths and areas for improvement. Our services include providing in-service workshops and presentations for faculty, staff, and leadership, board training and engagement, speaking to parent groups and at fundraising events, and personal appointments with key donors.

If you are interested, please contact us for a proposal.

Self assessment tool

Assess your own school’s journey to becoming an “uncommon” Christian school (i.e., a school that has a lifelong impact on the families its serves) by taking the “uncommon” Christian school self-assessment. This assessment evaluates your school in the above seven areas – mission, vision & values, board oversight, the leadership team, culture & people management, marketing & enrollment, programming, and operational excellenceBased on your results, we will offer steps to consider for improving in the areas requiring attention. You can also ask to work with one or a team of our seasoned faculty to address specific areas identified as needing attention in your school’s self-assessment through a consulting engagement.

Our team

The Wheaton Academy Institute is dedicated to providing the best care and service to all your educational needs. In each of our roles, we promise to faithfully and whole-heartedly serve you.

Here is what educational leaders are saying:

Over the past year, Dr. Frost and I spoke on a monthly basis to share what was going on at my school. He was quickly able to draw out the important things on my busy plate and help me prioritize them. He has been down roads I have yet to travel and the advice and guidance given has saved us time, money, and many headaches. More importantly, the wisdom and leadership has blessed our teachers, staff, parents and students

Head of School

Learning from experts in the field with a fresh perspective and years of experience in healthy, thriving Christian schools provided insight, specific direction and vision, creating a level of confidence and unity among administration, school board members, and other key stake holders that had not been present in decades.

Head of School

The Institute’s consulting service was the catalyst toward positive change that we were looking for! Our school had weathered two decades of consistent enrollment decline. With no clear path forward, we invited them to complete a comprehensive review of our school’s operations. Their expertise, practical recommendations, and graceful approach proved to be an invaluable resource as we charted our future steps. They worked together with our Administration and School Board to understand our identity, challenges, and opportunities. Ultimately, they helped unite our community in understanding our greatest challenges and most urgent priorities. This has resulted in a clear path forward for our school as we work to provide sustainable and excellent Christ-centered education.
