Global Network
Equipping schools in America to care for international students and prepare them for success
Upcoming ISP in-person Forum
Join faith-based school leaders from across the Midwest for the WA Global Network Midwest ISP Forum—a one-day, conversation-based gathering designed to connect and equip those serving international students. Participants will engage in peer-led discussions on recruitment, student care, and program development while sharing best practices and solutions to real-world challenges. The forum provides a meaningful opportunity for collaboration, practical learning, and community-building among ISP professionals.
Mission
Equip Schools
Share best practices and create learning environments for schools looking to grow in their ability to welcome international learners on campus.
strategic Networking
Provide opportunities to network with other private faith-based ISPs across the country to encourage and connect with others in a similar field.
The Wheaton Academy Global Network is committed to equipping schools to provide a caring, excellent and holistic experience to international students.
History
Wheaton Academy has been a boarding school for much of its 170 year history. In 2007, Wheaton Academy began a homestay boarding program to invite international students to become part of the school’s community. Since 2007, these students have had a profound impact on school culture and student learning.
By 2011, Wheaton Academy had met its targeted enrollment of international boarding students and realized there were more than 100 inquiries and applications received for a limited amount of openings. Rather than turn away these students, Wheaton Academy Global was formed to provide a pathway for students to find other high quality American schools like Wheaton Academy and to support these schools in their care and education of international learners.
Today, Wheaton Academy Global and the Global Network exists to provide increased understanding of key international student programs and to leverage best practices to impact these student and their families lives for generations to come.
Membership
WA Global Network membership opens the door to a connected, active community of international student program professionals. Members gather quarterly for virtual roundtables and topical events to share ideas, work through challenges, and stay current on what’s happening across ISPs nationally. In January 2027, the Network will host its first regional forum on the West Coast — a new in-person opportunity to build relationships closer to home.
Members also stay connected year-round through our national email network and shared resource portal, and gain visibility through a listing in the WAGN ISP school directory. New this year, each member school receives up to two Program Strategy Calls annually — direct, one-on-one time with Network leadership for support and guidance tailored to your program’s specific needs.
